Send help: I’ve been ill for weeks
She’s not booked ‘n’ busy
Hello and Happy April! This newsletter is coming out a bit later than usual because of the Easter holidays. I hope everyone has had a lovely time celebrating Easter, Passover, or just the bank holiday weekend in general.
I'm actually writing this on the bank holiday. Ro's nursery is closed for Easter and we have less childcare than we expected so I'm getting work done today while Dan is off and able to look after Rowan. And of course we just got back from a weekend in Manchester with heaps of grandparent care and now suddenly Rowan gets sick. My poor baby is having a duvet day on the sofa watching films. So it might just be that the limited childcare that we did arrange for the rest of the week also falls through because my little one is sick. Parenting is honestly mostly great, until someone gets ill…
Speaking of being ill, I’ve been ill for almost three weeks now. Not horrifically ill which I think is what has been my downfall. I’ve been feeling like crap but well enough to keep working and plodding on with things. But without stopping and properly resting this illness has just extended and extended. I can’t remember the last time I felt “normal” and was functioning at 100%. I’ve been hovering around 60% for most of March and now into April. Do I see an end in sight when I can rest? Not really. Especially not with Rowan really ill now too. I need to listen to past Hannah:
Family Weekend Away
In more positive news, we had a lovely Seder up in Manchester. It was my mum’s first ever time hosting (and I don’t think it’ll be the last!) and I wrote a little about it here on my insta.
An exciting thing that happened in March was that I have officially started my coaching training! Hopefully by the end of summer I will be a qualified and certified coach. It feels good to have finally made a decision about whether or not I wanted to do the training and now I’m in it I know I made the right decision. In order to qualify I have to complete a certain number of coaching hours. I have a couple of slots left that I am able to offer at a reduced rate whilst I’m in training. If you’re a content creator or a freelance creative and interested in receiving coaching from me then you can book in a free no obligation discovery call here.
A short one this month. I am decidedly not booked ‘n’ busy, I’m just an ill parent with an ill child.
📆 My YouTube video schedule has changed!
We are moving to uploads to Thursdays at 12pm UK time!
There’s two reasons behind this change:
I started my coaching course and the weekly live sessions are every Tuesday morning (my usual filming day). Because of this we’ve shifted everything back one day in the production schedule and so we’re still not rushing for a Wednesday release we’ve pushed the publish date back a day too.
It turns out Thursdays actually work much better for me now. Since Rowan started nursery we’ve been doing swimming on Wednesday afternoons which means that a video goes live and not long after I’m in parent mode and in a swimming pool unable to check on the video or title A/B tests, or respond to comments. Thursdays will be much calmer for me in terms of feeling available in a video’s first few hours of life!
Of course come summer/September all this might change again but for now - Thursdays 12pm it is!
🚀🪨 Project Hail Mary! (of course) - this is one of my favourite books, I’ve been telling everyone to listen to the audiobook for years and the film did not disappoint! Immediately after watching the film I started listening to the audiobook again. I love this story so much. Also, in the film and the book I cried at different moments. No spoilers here but in the movie I cried at an emotional moment in the middle and the book always gets me at the end.
I shared my IVF journey so far in a new episode of The Hormone Diaries!

I do hope you get well and feel better soon. I was briefly suffering some bug or other, and still have the residual cough... but now I have a new awful: a lesion in the muscle of my left thigh. Terrifically painful - and the cure? time, rest and heat. I just have the feeling that to put on one's shoes and tie them should not be a near death experience when you're not even 70 yet. Still, I have hopes that a better and more painless day will someday come... hate it when your own health is as bad as today's news.
